EPISODE 8- LA FESTA DI CHRISMAS

"La Festa Di Chrismas" is the one time each year when the 'Families' in the northeast come together, setting aside their differences, to throw the biggest 'block party' so to speak, for the 'investors' in their neighborhoods.  It is said, the party is so big everyone could stand hand to hand from Chicago to New York City to Philly to South Jersey.  This may be a slight exaggeration but to paraphrase Ed Sullivan, IT'S REAALLY BIG.

The guest list probably filled the FBI files to overflowing.  Don Meanie made all the arrangements for the entertainers who would perform at the parties.  First on the list was this cat out of Memphis.  He sang at the anniversary of Finny's when it had been open a year.  Don Meanie enjoyed his music and went to see him whenever he came to the Spectrum in Philly.

" Hi Mr. 'P', this is Fins, how you doin. Is 'E' in town?" (Don Meanie always used his nickname when he called.)  "Yea, He comes home for the holidays.  Can I Have him call you in about two hours, he's sleeping now?"  Don Meanie wasn't humble to too many mugs.  'E' and Mr. 'P' where two of only a few The Don gave such respect.  "Mr. 'P', I'm having a party and want to know if 'E' would do me the honor of a show."  Mr. 'P' didn't even hesitate. "Fins, you can count on 'E' being there.  When do you want him?"  Don Meanie felt like he was swimming up stream, he was so excited.  "I'll call you back with the date and thanks, I owe you big time!!"  After Don Meanie calmed down some, he made calls to the other entertainers on his list.  He called Blue Eyes, The Divine Miss 'M' and Danny and the Juniors ( Danny Rapp was a very good friend from Philly).

Jerry Stinger was the master of ceremony in Chicago with Moodonna performing - and her mother Bessie, was there with Preemie, the new kid.  Mallard Stern put on a show in New York with Mick Jaguar.  Dennis Rodmantis was in the crowd there.

Don Meanies' mother and sister came in from California.  Angela was escorted by Quack Nicholson (he said he had a 'club' in LA. He used a lot ??).  Many of the mugs he hadn't seen for awhile showed up.  They included Pete ( he operates his janitorial business out of a building in West Philly now and his problem was under control these days, or was it?), N. Seal ( he opened his own training camp for, you guest it, bodyguards), Sledge ( he was looking better these days.  He still hung around the clubs but since going to N. Seals' camp, he hasn't been battered much).  Boris came with a bird by the name of Phlem and a dog named Digger ( what a sickly crew), and when Bart showed up, he cleared the street in front of the club.  Matt was looking slimmer (something about a strict liquid diet. I had heard he was getting to be a pain in the neck).

Fi and Do came in to help Splat with the refreshments.  Slobba 67 and Crud drove down with Burny, Bare and a friend from Lawrenceville by the name of Hurley.  A bird of many colors. He liked to party fast and spent most of the party driving the porcelain steering wheel. Burny and Bare were in much better shape and praised Slobba 67 for saving them and fixing them up.

Chubby greeted everyone as they showed up at Fins'.  What a time we had.  Most definitely the biggest party ever.  After the ball dropped it was BACK TO BUSINESS.
