Burny opened his eyes.
"what...where am I ?" He said to himself. He was on a bed
in a dark room . At first all he saw was a candle flickering on a table by
the door. Burny could just make out a bed next to his with Bare in it.
"Bare!, Bare!, are you alright!?" Bare didn't answer so Burny
made an attempt to get up. He felt a burning in his side and lay back
down.
The door opened and a big boned critter entered with this little mutt pushing
her on what looked like a red velvet throne on wheels. "I see you've
awakened, how are you feeling?" The big boned one said. Burny didn't
quite know what to make of this mug so he played it cool and said,
"I'm feeling better than I expected considering I thought we were
goners." The critter rolled closer and said, "I am Slobba 67.
Don Meanie asked me and Crud to keep an eye on the truck you two were hidden in.
When the driver made an unscheduled stop in Trenton, we figured something wasn't
right. Two mugs came up behind the truck, opened the doors and the popping
started. Crud says my temper is worse than Capone's, I started popping
them and sent them to the bean counter but they had already gotten you two.
We brought you here, replaced the beans and sewed you up. Bare was hit in
the head. He took a little more work but he'll be ok with some rest. Crud
called Don Meanie to tell him you mugs were safe."
Don Meanie kept
Silver hidden at the club until the night of the meeting. They met in
Cherry Hill. The heads of all the 'families' in the northeastern states
where there. Most important, Don Tye was there.
Don Meanie began. "For many years now, we have worked to keep peace with
all the 'families'. This board was formed for just that reason. Now
we have an explosive situation that needs to be resolved here so no more beans
are spilled. Don Tye, one of my mugs has something of yours and I am
prepared to return it as long as you call your bears off." Don Tye
sat and thought for a moment and then said, "How do I know you didn't
take anything to use against me later?" Don Meanie moved closer to
Don Tye, "What I have is YOUR business and not mine, you have my word
and that should be enough."
Don Tye looked into Don Meanie's eye. "Everyone on this board speaks
highly of you and your way of keeping peace among the 'families'. I don't
know you like they do but I will accept your word. Give me my property and
we will close this matter." Don Meanie handed Don Tye the book and
kisses on both cheeks were exchanged.
With this most
volatile situation behind them, the heads of the 'families' lightened up and
began to plan "La Festa di Chrismas" (a Christmas party where all the
'Families' put a side their differences and party together. Sort of a
"Snoopy and Red Baron Christmas thing) that would rock the whole northeast.
Don Meanie said to Don Tye. "Don Tye, you have shown yourself to be
an honorable bean and us mugs would like to invite you and your bears to
"La Festa di Chrismas." Don Tye accepted and all the raindeer
cheered. !!!OPPS, WRONG STORY!!!.
